About
voteyes.ie seeks to provide an informed ongoing online commentary on why Ireland should vote yes to the Lisbon Treaty in October 2009. This will be done by providing clear and concise advice, arguments, commentary resources and rebuttals in the Lisbon debate. This will be a useful daily resource for all those who want to vote yes but need reassuring!
The site arises from my own engagement with referendums on European Treaties over the last 20 years. Rather than complaining that others have got it wrong or the debate and knowledge on Europe is appalling I’ve followed the old maximum of get up of your rear end and do it yourself.
I will regularly call on a few friends and contacts who I know have knowledge, expertise and something to say on the topic but the site remains my own. This is not a place for heated debate, there is plenty of room online for that, I won’t be publishing No arguments or engaging in tooing and frooing (on this site). This is exclusively a resource for Yes voters who for some reason often find it hard to be as passionate and in your face as the No side.

Great Site Michael!
People need to know where to get Yes car stickers, badges and such like so that individuals can promote the cause. I made car stickers myself and they are on display for the last week. Any ideas?

HI
I am appalled by the misinformation given to me by a girl handing out leaflets in support of the “yes” campaign.(Dublin city centre)
I asked for information as to why the rest of the EU have not been given an opportunity to vote on such an important piece of legislation, and why this right has been denied to millions of citizens of the EU?
the girl then informed me that in fact 27million people of the EU had voted in favour of it.
This is a complete LIE!!!
and for this reason I am going to tell everyone I know to Vote NO, and inform them of the lies of the yes campaign
The good people of the EU should have a vote on this treaty, not just the politicians and bankers who are in favour of it.
a No vote is in fact a vote for europe
No means no!!

Well more voted yes than no on the Constitution. I’m happy to let other member states decide how they ratify, that’s what the treaties provide for. I doubt if we would be pleased if they told us how ot do it?
